Approximately 80 residents of the regions affordable senior housing communities will be gathering in Sacramento next week to advocate for programs and services for older adults.
LeadingAge California members American Baptist Homes of the West, Christian Church Homes, Eden Housing, PEP Housing, Retirement Housing Foundation, Satellite Affordable Housing Associates, and Mercy Housing of California will be participating in the event.Titled, “A Day of Advocacy,” residents will be briefed on current issues pending before the Legislature. After their briefing they will attend visits with their legislators to discuss support of safety net programs, increased revenues, and housing with services to help meet the rising needs of affordable housing for seniors. This year more than double the number of organizations are participating, under the leadership of Geoffrey Morgan with Christian Church Homes and chair of this year’s Resident Advocacy Day Committee.
