Some LeadingAge California members received an invitation to participate in an important survey to help the association prioritize its efforts around the planned CCRC statute revision. As you may recall, a revision to the Health and Safety Code governing continuing care contracts is scheduled to begin this year with introduction of legislation in 2014. It has been over ten years since the statutes have been updated and modernized to today’s practices and standards. The Working Group that will be responsible for prioritizing issues will meet later this month in Sacramento to discuss feedback gained from LeadingAge members and other stakeholders.
The LeadingAge California survey is designed to walk respondents through the current statutes asking for feedback on the various articles of the statute. If proposals for a change in the statute are not covered, respondents can submit their ideas near the end of the survey. The deadline to respond is June 21st.
Members that represent CCRCs and would like to participate in the survey, are encouraged to contact Eric Dowdy, Vice President of Policy at (916) 469-3376.
